Ribeye or sirloin, fillet or flat iron – whatever the cut, a sumptuous slab of beef will get you salivating. Luckily, Londoners are never far from a juicy T-bone, and several chophouses in the capital are now award-winning. has just released its list of the 50 best chophouses in Europe, and several London eateries have made the cut.
Each year, a network of steak ambassadors (aye, that’s a real thing) head out on a quest to sample the top grillhouses around the world, judging meats against criteria including quality, ageing process, taste and even terroir.
The publication released its for 2026 earlier in the year, ranking the 101 best steak joints in the world. Now, it’s announced its top 50 in Europe. Eight of the Big Smoke’s steakhouses managed to secure a spot on both the global and continent-wide standings, with Shoreditch’s Brat the only one snubbed for the most recent list (despite ranking 17th around the globe). Yep, we have questions too.
, which came in 7th place globally, climbed to 6th in Europe. The Basque grill house opened in 2024 and quickly acquired a rep as one of the city’s best beef spots.
, also a new kid on the block, rounded out the top 10, while Lutyens Grill, which calls The Ned home, closely followed in 12th place.
Other blood-thirsty London haunts in the top 50 ranking included Zoilo in Marylebone at number 14, The Devonshire in Soho at 21, Sagardi in Shoreditch at 31, Chelsea Grill in, naturally, Chelsea at 35 and The Guinea Grill in Mayfair at 39.
