Even celebrities have a habit of cosplaying French style when in Paris, and last year Kendall Jenner gave us a pretending-to-be-Parisian masterclass while striding through the Place Vendôme in the most perfect trench coat we have ever seen. While the autumn staple is loved for its timeless elegance, as well as it being the most reliable thing you can wear during the transitional times of year, the model proved that not all trench coats are created equal.
Her vintage Hermès beauty, sourced from Desert Vintage, has draped shoulders, ballooned sleeves and a flared fit, while two belts at the waist and the neckline provide structure and definition. We simply have no notes. Paired with straight-leg jeans, ballet pumps and a Kelly bag, she shows that sometimes nothing tops a trusty trench coat – especially when it’s classic Hermès.
While trench coats will always feature heavily on Burberry’s front row during fashion month and have long been entrenched (ahem) in Hollywood history (from Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s to Marlene Dietrich in A Foreign Affair), this year A-Listers have been revisiting this classic wardrobe staple with renewed enthusiasm.
From wearing an oversized khaki trench in Manhattan to Daisy Edgar-Jones strolling through London in a double-breasted style and Zoe Kravtiz in her signature The Row get-up, keep scrolling for ideas for how to style a trench coat this autumn, according to some of the most stylish A-Listers.
