Okay, I admit it: I was initially a sceptic. Everything I’d heard about Dominic Treadwell-Collins’ Disney+ show, set in the picturesque but also very randy Cotswolds in the glossy, tacky, incredibly problematic ’80s, felt like it was decidedly not for me. But, I was wrong. This adaptation of the dearly departed Dame Jilly Cooper’s beloved novel of the same name, part of the bestselling Rutshire Chronicles, is a romp of the highest order – one hell of a ride and easily one of the most entertaining TV shows to come out of recent years.
And, so far at least, season two has been equally juicy. Back in May, we were given six supremely dramatic, often delightful, occasionally heartbreaking episodes: scandals brewed, secrets were uncovered and a shocking death left us catching our breath. Now, after what has already felt like an endless hiatus, Disney has revealed that season two, part two, will finally land on 11 November 2026, with the first three episodes dropping simultaneously, and the remaining three episodes landing weekly afterwards. The streamer has also released a sneak first peek at part two with a series of images to pore over in the meantime.
But what should we expect, plot-wise, come November? According to Disney, part two will pick up after the gut-wrenching mid-series finale, and see “Tony Baddingham and Declan O’Hara’s battle for the Cotswolds crown reach fever pitch, while Rupert Campbell-Black is forced to confront his own personal demons”.
The synopsis continues: “Against a backdrop of hedonistic parties, Bonfire Night chaos, the Hampshire Hunt Ball and a turbulent Christmas, affairs unravel, alliances fracture and rivalries intensify. Caught in the middle of the frenzied franchise war, Taggie O’Hara must find the courage to follow her heart, while those around her face the consequences of ambition, power and secrets that can no longer remain hidden. But as series two draws to a close, who will get their happy ending?”
