Summer is officially over, and awards season is in full swing. There was the 2026 Venice Film Festival, all water taxis and windswept glitz; the Toronto Film Festival’s effortlessly glam looks, and now, the Emmy Awards. And that’s without mentioning New York Fashion Week, with London’s turn hot on its heels. Whew! All that travelling – and the requisite suitcase packing and unpacking – is sure to take a toll on nails.

But from Zendaya to Nicole Kidman, last night’s Emmy Awards attendees didn’t crack under the pressure – and neither did their flawless manicures. While summer might’ve ended, the high-shine, natural nail trends that came with the warm weather – like the milky coconut kind – are here to stay. Stars gave their own spin on the look, however – case in point: Ayo Edebiri’s pearlescent soft ombré nails or Odessa A’zion’s early 2000s-inspired French manicure. Others, like comedian Megan Stalter, bucked the trends completely and opted for an autumn classic: a metallic manicure.
