All The Stars On The Front Row At London Fashion Week
Among the more unexpected guests at last season’s London Fashion Week was King Charles III, whose arrival at Tolu Coker’s Newgen presentation at 180 The Strand was announced over the tannoy with a request that everyone rise. His appearance conferred a royal seal of approval on an industry worth £62 billion to the British economy, but inside the room it made for a strange scene: the monarch descending upon fashion’s anti-establishment fringe, security detail in tow, as even the front row’s most inflated egos snapped to attention and became obedient subjects.
The King won’t be attending the spring/summer 2027 shows, but who’s to say his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, won’t? The Duchess of Sussex has form here – and, having recently relocated from California to the Cotswolds, reason to reintroduce herself. Regardless, the celebrity quotient, if that is something you care about, should be healthy. H&M opened the week with a colossal-budget autumn/winter 2026 show featuring legacy models, Labrinth and Cruz Beckham on the front row, some of whom may stick around for McQueen’s return. Factor in Erdem’s bevy of national treasures and Burberry’s sprawling diplomatic corps of global ambassadors, and London is in for a starry few days.
