A bit of a west London institution, in 2020 Falafel King found its permanent home on Golborne Road after 30 years as a food stall on nearby . The menu at this takeaway-only spot is simple: big falafel pita, small falafel pita, box of falafel, or a big tub of houmous. For £11, you can score a sizable pita parcel, stuffed generously with well-seasoned, aromatic falafel (no bland, dry balls here), salad, creamy houmous, chilli sauce and ample pickles, including gherkins. This all comes with a homemade lemonade on the side – it’s just sweet enough, tangy and with a refreshing hint of mint. You might get an undignified amount of chickpea on your face when biting into one of these pillowy pitas, but it will be worth it.
