Kendall Jenner is used to being seen. She’s reportedly the highest-paid model in the world, for one, but she also basically grew up on camera (kamera?) as a younger scion of the first family of reality television, the Kardashian-Jenners. Still, her arrival this week at Venice Film Festival – that historic celebration of international cinema and forger of future Oscar contenders – does represent something of a shift in worlds for her, from the small screen to silver, from the runway to the red carpet.

Kendall has been dating Jacob Elordi – who was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar last year and whose name continues to crop up in the remorseless who-will-be-the-next-James-Bond conversation – since the spring. Though it should be noted that Elordi was nowhere to be seen when Jenner glided onto the red carpet at the premiere of , wearing a vintage Giorgio Armani dress from the autumn/winter 1995 collection (the year she was born, FYI).
Kendall’s archive dress, crafted in gold silk georgette and embroidered with iridescent flowers, perfectly fit the brief for Venice. Between the body-skimming fit, the spaghetti straps, the crystal embellished neckline and the celebration of Italian craft… let’s just say a young Monica Bellucci would approve.
While this was no “supportive plus one” moment, it’s really just a matter of time before Kendall and Jacob make it red-carpet official. The question is, where? Maybe she’ll take a leaf from the book of her baby sister, Kylie, who acquired her own movie star boyfriend all the way back in 2023. Kylie and Timothée Chalamet, of course, saved their first “official” public outing as a couple for an occasion that delivered maximum impact: the 2024 Golden Globes. Awards season is a good few months away, but one suspects Kendall (and her stylist Dani Michelle) already have some vintage gowns in mind.
