Jessica Chastain’s Botticellian red hair has always been her signature. But what better time for her to become a Hitchcock blonde than to promote her psychological horror film, ? At a fan screening of her latest movie, Chastain’s new blonde bob made its red carpet debut, with Renato Campora giving it a deep side parting and structured waves that tapped into a ’50s feel.

And yes, the curtains matched the drapes: make-up artist Kristofer Buckle skipped a red eyebrow pomade in favour of an ashy grey. He kept the rest of Chastain’s make-up simple, pairing a sparkling champagne eyeshadow with dewy skin and a peachy gloss. To amp up the glow factor, Chastain even sported a little body glitter – chiming nicely with her lime green satin mini dress.

But perhaps this swap was always on the cards. As Chastain told British in 2018: “I have these fantasies about maybe one day having this rad white hair. I just played a character in where I had very white hair and wear hardly any make-up. It really puts your focus on your face. Especially not wearing mascara. It’s a cool look, it’s very Tilda Swinton. I have the Tilda Swinton envy every once in a while, she’s so rad.”
While she's certainly more golden blonde than platinum white, perhaps that's a clue into Chastain’s next big hair shift.
