While bob trends of late have given way to the super chic lob or the trending clavi-cut, Margot Robbie has emerged with a dramatically shorter, sharper and much blonder bob. The actor and producer has swapped the shaggy, caramel-toned lengths of recent months for a razor-sharp, jaw-grazing cut in a cool-toned shade of blonde.
Spotted arriving in Sydney wearing a cobalt-blue paisley headscarf tied over her new crop, narrow Chanel sunglasses, and an all-black ensemble, Robbie looked ready to embrace the fast-approaching Australian summer. Beneath the scarf (a go-to piece of headgear for everyone from Zendaya to Zoë Kravitz in other hemispheres), her pale-blonde lengths were cut into a precise, slightly angled silhouette, with blunt ends curving inward just below the jaw. Her almost-white blonde colouring helped to amp up the hairdo’s geometric shape.
It’s a considerable departure from the romantic, tousled hair she wore throughout the press tour, with honey and caramel tones and looks that leaned into the romance with soft waves and decadent braids. At the beginning of spring, she debuted a shaggier, shoulder-skimming bob with wispy, broken bangs just in time for Chanel’s autumn/winter 2026 show in Paris. Margot Robbie sure knows how to pick the moment for her official bob debut – once again, showing it in all its glory at Chanel’s first Sydney show. Sitting beside Nicole Kidman, Robbie sported her bob in a deep side part, slicked and flicked out to touch her earlobes. Her sweet glam complemented the sheer white, feather brooch-adorned Chanel look.
The flicked bob has emerged as one of the fashion crowd’s favourite iterations of the cropped cut. Frankie Pullen, hairstylist at Larry King Marylebone, previously told that they’ve been seeing the style more and more in the salon. “The flicked bob is such a great, polished autumn and winter haircut,” she said. “We’ve seen clients wanting to move away from softer, shaggier summer styles, and now, they’re after a more polished finish ahead of the colder season.” So make like Margot and chop, chop, chop!
