This week’s autumn haircut inspiration comes directly from Saoirse Ronan, who stepped out with a new micro-fringe on Monday. The actor popped into the BBC building in central London sporting a blunt blonde bob with the briefest of bangs. It’s her first public appearance since becoming a mother (she and her husband, Slow Horses star Jack Lowden, welcomed their first child last September) and, naturally, we now want a tiny little fringe, too.

Ronan has long been a supporter of the bob, having gone through all manner of short styles in the course of her time in the spotlight. There was the bumped, bottleneck bob from three years ago, artfully waved with choppy ends and an ultra-cool, blue-blonde base. She’s gone long, slicked, mussed-up and – often for role – dyed her hair in various shades of blue, red and brown. The commitment to the bob, however, remains.

Her most recent iteration is slightly edgier than what has come before, thanks to the inclusion of that slightly jagged micro-fringe. Resting a good inch above her eyebrows, the new addition sharpens up the rest of her classic, light-blonde bob. A little brow gel, subtle mascara and pink, over-lined lip formed the rest of her beauty look.
