But one enduring trend holds fast as a firm celeb favourite, no matter the forecast: gloriously glossy soap nails.

Just take the London Film Festival, where the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Naomi Ackie and Carey Mulligan have all been championing the same semi-sheer milky pink polish.
