The stars have decamped to Italy for the 2026 Venice Film Festival, including Amal and George Clooney, who made a dramatic entrance by water taxi for the opening ceremony on Wednesday night, where George was presented with a Golden Lion lifetime achievement award. We’ve also had a rare appearance from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was on the red carpet in support of her partner, filmmaker Martin McDonagh, at the premiere of his movie , and a spectacular cameo from supermodel and former British cover star Bhavitha Mandava, wearing (what else?) Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel.
Granted, the event is chiefly about celebrating the very best of cinema, but given the crowd, the fashion and beauty is high on the agenda, too. The vibe in Venice? Glamour: dripping jewels, traffic-stopping ballgowns, tumbling hair and make-up that glows by the light of a thousand flashbulbs.
