Dublin Castle, Sheephaven Bay, The Black Heart... Camden Town has no shortage of top pubs. And now another venue is vying to be named among the area’s finest boozers. reopened today (October 2) after a sizeable refurb and with new management.
The Victorian pub, which is in a prime position opposite Camden Road Overground station, was previously owned by Brewdog. In March, it was one of 38 venues which were forced to shut after the pub operator was sold and 484 employees were made redundant.
Since then, the owners of its freehold, Star Pubs, have worked on a refurbishment. Local newspaper said this includes a dedicated area for sports and games, as well as ‘refreshed décor, a new dining space and a refitted commercial kitchen and external signage’. It’s also had a fresh lick of paint.

The Camden Road Arms’ popular outdoor seating will also still be available, with space for up to 24 people, while inside the pub can fit 60. A drinks or food menu has not been released yet.
The pub’s owners said in an Instagram post: ‘We’ve been working hard this week to get the pub set up and welcome you to the newly refurbished Camden Road Arms’. The boozer asked guests to ‘pop in, say hello and have a chat’, adding it was ‘excited to become your new local’.
