This popular London restaurant is the ‘most viral’ in the world

The Dishoom queue is a London rite of passage. The Bombay café-inspired franchise has been around for more than 15 years, and yet the hype has never really died down. Walking past its outposts in Shoreditch, Soho and King’s Cross, you’re still guaranteed to see a line of people waiting patiently outside for the restaurant’s famous black daal, gunpowder potatoes, chicken ruby and okra fries.

Those queues are so legendary that Dishoom has just been named most viral restaurant in the whole world. TripAdvisor gave Dishoom King’s Cross the crown in its Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2026. It tops the site’s list of cooking classes, food tours and restaurants around the globe that TripAdvisor users say live up to the hype.

Dishoom’s breakfast is what really sets it apart from the rest. The bacon naan roll is the most iconic item on its early morning menu, or you can opt for the ‘Big Bombay’, a classic full English plus akuri and masala beans or for the keema per eedu which features chicken keema with chicken liver, runny-yolk fried eggs and salli crisp-chips. To drink, the refillable chai is an absolute must.

As we all know, just because a restaurant is viral, that doesn’t mean it’s any good in real life. But Dishoom has Time Out’s firm seal of approval, featuring on our guides to the capital’s greatest chain restaurants, its finest Indian and South Asian restaurants and its best breakfasts. Also here’s a pro tip: you don’t actually have to queue (but it is part of the whole Dishoom experience). The chain takes bookings for groups of any size before 6pm and parties of six or more after 6pm.

Two other London food experiences made TripAdvisor’s viral list. Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea At Sanderson came in third place and the London Bridge and Borough Market Food Tour landed in 12th. See the full thing here.

ICYMI: Dishoom is launching its first-ever set menu for London office workers.

Plus: The UK’s top ‘hidden gem’ restaurant is in Hampstead.
