Three days after the autumn equinox, a full moon will light up the sky on the evening of 26 September, 2026. This first full moon of autumn – traditionally called the “Harvest Moon”, in reference to the harvest season – will bring an entirely new energy, particularly when it comes to relationships.
Maëva Canseliet, a psychic and astrologer, explains. “When the moon is full, it invites us to engage in a process of liberation, but also of self-reflection,” she says. “On 26 September, it will be in the sign of Aries, which means it will shed light on one or more situations in which we need to assert ourselves and be independent.”
“It invites us to be fully ourselves and to stop hiding behind masks,” she continues. “To listen to our deepest desires – the ones that make us vibrate from within – and it urges us to leave behind whatever is holding us back. [This full moon] is in opposition to the Sun, located in the sign of Libra, and this axis speaks to us of finding a balance between the ‘I’ and the ‘we.’ So, it will be important to stay true to ourselves without disrupting the balance we have with others.”
But which signs will be most affected? “The signs most affected by this full moon are Aries, Cancer and Capricorn (which form a square aspect with the Moon) and Libra (which forms an opposition aspect with the Moon),” says Canseliet, who points out that, “people with their Sun, Moon or Ascendant in one of these signs will also be impacted.”
21 March – 19 April
For Aries, this full moon highlights the end of an old way of being, allowing them to break free and embrace a whole new identity. They may gain insights into what they want to embody, and feel compelled to assert themselves in their relationships. A situation or way of doing things becomes clearer in their minds, and they realise it’s becoming difficult for them to continue on as before. They recognise a pattern of behaviour that can no longer be sustained. This full moon prompts them to truly question who they are and what they project to others.
22 June – 22 July
For Cancers, this full moon will affect what they’ve built and accomplished in the world (career, status, responsibilities, professional direction). A conflict between what they feel they do and what they truly to do resurfaces. They may question the direction they’ve taken and whether it aligns with what they want to build. They may well feel the need to take the reins and act on their own. A professional situation or a goal may be coming to an end. They may have a professional epiphany and realise that it’s no longer possible to continue on as they usually have. This full moon doesn’t necessarily require them to abandon everything, but rather to reshape and readjust certain ways of operating and certain goals.
22 December – 20 January
Issues relating to home, family, the past and inner security will come to the forefront for Capricorns. They may experience a tension between a need for security and deep attachment – and a need for self-assertion and change! This means there may be a situation related to their home life in which they can no longer maintain the same routine as before. An old family pattern or behaviour may be coming to an end; they may feel that things need to change, but encounter resistance when it comes to asserting themselves. Their past may resurface, leading them to realise that part of them is still attached to an old relationship, while another part wants to move forward and start a whole new chapter.
24 September – 23 October
For Libras, this full moon will highlight their relationships, commitments and collaborations with others, among other things. Libra is in opposition to the Moon in Aries, creating tension between what they want and what a relationship or partnership demands of them. All of this brings to the surface a need to restore balance to their relationships; they may realise that they have too often prioritised harmony or the other person’s needs, and will therefore need to reaffirm their own expectations. They gain greater clarity on what works and what doesn’t in a relationship, which can lead to important discussions and a new way of working together. Note that this opposition isn’t necessarily a source of conflict or separation, but it does bring about realisations regarding how Libras position themselves in relation to others.
